Lily Pad Fantasy was recently painted by Tisa & Scott in preparation for our show on August 1st, 2025. The show will be held in the newly built Atelier tisa.
The painting began with Scott adding two additional coats of Gesso to the whole surface and then drawing into the partially cured surface with Vine Charcoal. (See smaller image) This forms some ridges at the edges of the lines.

Tisa goes next, adding almost all of the color to the surface with Acrylic paints using brushes. The surface is then allowed to dry. Tisa is the one who knows color!
Scott goes in again with Vine Charcoal which is then brushed over with Clear Acrylic Medium blending the charcoal. Most of this is done at the edges of shapes near where the original drawing was. He also adds some highlights with color using the same colors that Tisa has already mixed.
Following these steps, we look at the painting together and then both make any changes we feel are needed.
The final step is to cover the whole surface with a Clear Acrylic Gloss Medium. This brings the whole thing together and enhances the colors. This still needs to be done. Thanks for looking!!
