A little about Tisa & Scott

Fish Bowl Vase, water color, acrylic & India ink
The St Lawrence River is loved by thousands of people each year. It spurs the creativity of a great number of artists, from students and beginners to professionals. It is hard to gaze at its beauty and not be inspired. Christine Tisa and Scott Ouderkirk have spent the last several decades creating art about and around the Thousand Islands. Many people in the area own and display each artist’s work, but few of those people would think of the two artists’ work as similar. Although the two both have spent so much time in the area, they had never met until late in 2022. Their paths simply had never crossed, despite their appreciation for each other’s work. Now married, Tisa and Scott continue to work in their respective media, Tisa in water color and acrylic and Scott in pen and ink and stained glass. They also collaborate on paintings which were shown in their show together on August 1st of 2024. These paintings are a combination of water color, acrylic and India ink. The one shown here is called “Fish Bowl Vase”, this piece was chosen for an award in Norfolk, VA last April during the Flourish exhibit at the d’Art Center.
